Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole Recipe | Just A Pinch Recipes

oooh yuummm!

Blueberry Cream Cheese French Toast Casserole Recipe | Just A Pinch Recipes

I couldn't believe it 'till today!

I thought to myself when I joined or signed up for Ebates, oh well we'll see what happens!
The thing I wrestled with each time I shopped at Walmart, Amazon and Kohl's is my bank also gives a cash back, although not as much I knew it (my bankcard) would be a sure thing. But thought it will only be  $2 or $3 dollars I lose by trying out Ebates instead so that's what I did, I tried it out!
Well, I got my check today! Yes, it really works and does what it says it will. Not only do you get cash back but Ebates has great coupons to use also! Okay, I'm impressed!

Now that I'm convinced I am going to pass on the good news about Ebates!!
Yes! I'm a happy gal!

Especially since we are retired and live on an limited income, I try to save everywhere I can. Now, I will admit it's not the thousands or hundreds of $ as shown on TV.  But we still got a check for enough to go out to dinner if we want!!!

umm, did I say Ebates? Yes! Yes! Yes!

Coconut Oil?

Coconut Oil Tips

Those stories both point out that coconut oil has helped reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's Disease, and is thought to reverse symptoms of other neurological disorders as well. Furthermore, it appears to prevent, in some cases, the onset of these conditions. It also has been shown to help people with insulin problems, such as diabetics, and could even help in cases of autism and epilepsy.
If those aren't reasons enough to take coconut oil, this last one applies to all of us: it prevents against colds and viruses.
Coconut oil is a natural antibacterial and effectively kills the harmful bacteria in our bodies, thus strengthening our immune system. But it gets even better than that. According to Dr. Mary Enig the lauric acid in coconut oil destroys viruses such as HIV, herpes, and influenza.
To read more about this wonderful product go to: COCONUT OIL
Many people have questions about what brand of coconut oil they should be taking and how much of it they should take. Still others wonder how to take it, since it's a solid at room temperature.
Allow me to address these concerns.
First of all, you must, must must NEVER EAT HYDROGENATED OILS OF ANY KIND, including coconut oil. Hydrogenated oils are the same thing as trans fats, which are some of the deadliest substances you can put in your body.
Trans fats are man-made, which is to say, God never intended us to eat them. They are manufactured by infusing a nice regular oil, coconut oil, for instance, with hydrogen....hence the term, "hydrogenated." The end result is a molecule that has properties similar to plastic and wreaks havoc on your cells, leading to heart disease, cancer, and decreased immune function.
So stay away from hydrogenated coconut oil. If you are ever in doubt about whether a product contains a trans fat, simply look at the list of ingredients. If you see the word, "hydrogenated," put it back. Fortunately, I have not seen hydrogenated coconut at all, but I have heard it's out there.

Inflammation: The Greatest Health Enemy

The tide is turning. Doctors are increasingly embracing the idea that inflammation, not cholesterol is the cause of heart disease. Not only that, but inflammation, and its two main contributors, trans fats and sugars, are linked to of a whole host of health problems, not the least of which are cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
About 30 years ago, we were all told that cholesterol caused heart disease and made us all overweight, and that we needed to stop eating fat. America responded by demonizing bacon and eggs, butter, steak, anything containing dietary fat. In their place, we ate fat free salad dressings, fat-free cookies, low fat breads, pastas, and other carbohydrates.
As a result our nation's obesity epidemic skyrocketed and so did our incidence of heart disease and other ailments.
What went wrong?
It appears that the fatty foods we gave up were actually good for us, and the foods with which we replaced them were bad.
At first, researchers said all cholesterol was bad. Then they realized there are different kinds of cholesterol, and that the HDL cholesterol is actually good for us. LDL is raised by eating Omega-3 fats like olive oil and fish, so doctors encouraged us to eat those types of fats, but told us LDL cholesterol is still bad.
Now, however, it appears there are different types of LDL cholesterol, based on the size and density of the particles, and that the large, fluffy LDL particles are actually good for us. That type of good LDL cholesterol is raised by eating natural saturated fats like coconut oil, butter, meat and cheese.
There is one type of LDL cholesterol that is bad, very bad, and those are the small, dense particles. That type of cholesterol is raised by eating trans fats and sugar. In short, there is just a very small type of cholesterol that is bad for us, the kind that comes from inflammation. Other than that, cholesterol is very beneficial to our bodies.
So the newest thinking is, go ahead and eat natural fats and don't worry about your cholesterol. High cholesterol, even high LDL cholesterol, is largely a sign of good health. But please don't forget about the other side of this coin.
By all means, stop eating the foods that cause inflammation. Inflammation is nicknamed "The Silent Killer" because we can't see it or feel it while it destroys our bodies from head to toe.
Trans fats cause inflammation because these fats were created in a lab by infusing hydrogen into a regular fat, creating something that is very similar, on a molecular level, to plastic. Therefore, trans fats are completely foreign to our bodies, and they don't know how to process it.
What ends up happening is the trans fat accumulates on the cell membrane and begins to distort it and weaken it. This means things that shouldn't be getting into our cells are getting in, things like viruses and toxins, and things that should be kept in the cells are getting out, like nutrients.
Trans fats have been linked to Alzheimer's disease. A University of Oregon study showed seniors who at a lot of trans fats had a higher incidence of Alzheimer's disease. Brain cells can't communicate effectively if their membranes are corrupted with trans fats. Now scientists suspect trans fats may be linked to ADD, ADHD and Autism.
We have witnessed an explosion in the incidence of these conditions in the last 30 years, at the same time we witnessed an explosion of the consumption of trans fats.
Sadly, most processed foods contain trans fats. Don't judge whether a food item contains a trans fat based on the label. Food manufacturers have figured out a way to trick consumers into thinking a food is trans-fat-free when it really isn't. The way to know for sure, is by looking at the list of ingredients. If you see the word "hydrogenated" it contains trans fat. Vegetable shortening and margarine are trans fats as are most packaged baked goods like cookies and crackers.
Another highly inflammatory fat is Omega 6 fat. Actually Omega-6 fats are necessary for good health, but only in equal amounts as Omega-3 fats. Here in America, however, most of us consume 15 times the amount of Omega 6 fats compared to Omega-3 fats and that imbalance is highly inflammatory. So cut way back on Omega-6s such as vegetable oil. Substitute olive oil or coconut oil whenever a recipe calls for vegetable oil.
Another massive inflammatory agent is sugar. By sugar that means table sugar of course, but also all the different types of sugars, like high fructose corn syrup. Most Americans consumer 150 pounds of sugar a year, and it's estimated that more half of that comes in the form of high fructose corn syrup. Little more than 300 years ago, in 1700, people only at 7 1/2 pounds of sugar a year. Our bodies are simply not equipped to handle that massive overload of sugar, and the end result is extreme inflammation which kills.
Like trans fats, high fructose corn syrup is manufactured in a lab and is added to just about every processed food, not just the sweet ones, but things like pasta sauce and bread, too.
In addition to sugars, carbohydrates are also inflammatory, especially the refined carbohydrates, the ones that have been processed, and have had the fiber removed, leaving behind only the starch. This extra-starchy carbohydrate evokes the same dramatic insulin response as straight sugar.
In other words, to your body, eating refined carbohydrates are just like eating plain sugar. Refined carbohydrates are white grains, such as white bread, bagels, rice, pasta, English muffins, hot dog buns, hamburger buns, tortillas, rice, cereal, crackers, etc.
It may take a while for America to get the message that what we've heard for the last 30 years - that all fats are the enemy and carbs and sugars are okay - is backwards. The truth is, some fats are excellent for our health, like Omega 3, such as fish oil and olive oil, and like natural saturated fats like coconut oil and butter.
Other fats are extremely inflammatory, however, and must be avoided. Those are Omega-6 fats such as vegetable oil and trans fats such as margarine. We also need to avoid sugar and carbohydrates because these foods, eating in excess (which is what most Americans do), are highly inflammatory.

Coconut Oil Tips

Many people are getting the message about the healing properties of coconut oil. It is truly a marvelous food for so many reasons. I have done two stories on coconut oil that have both aired on "The 700 Club." The first one aired in January 2012 and the second one aired in January 2013.
If you haven't seen them, or would like to view them again, you may watch them here and here.

So when you choose the coconut oil you want, look at the list of ingredients. A good list includes just one ingredient, either coconut or coconut oil.
But beyond that, how does one choose which brand of coconut oil is best?
Dr. Mary Newport, a Tampa physician whose husband Steve experienced tremendous results with coconut oil, and who authored the book, "Alzheimer's Disease: What If There Was A Cure?" (a great read, by the way) says, "What I usually tell people is that for those on a fixed income, (the Lou Ana brand that you can purchase at Wal-Mart in the cooking oil aisle) if this is the only brand they can afford, that the ketone effect should be the same as with organic, unrefined coconut oil."
However, she went on to say, "If they can afford the more expensive oil, it is less processed and may contain more beneficial nutrients."
Dr. Newport further added that people who are not experiencing the desired results after taking the more refined coconut oils that they should try the unrefined.
Recently I and some of my associates here at CBN have tried a variety of coconut oil products from Tropical Traditions. These are superb, high-quality products that I would highly recommend.
They are even shipped in glass containers in order to eliminate the corrosive effects the coconut oil may have on the plastic containers. The man who runs Tropical Traditions is a committed follower of Jesus Christ and operates the company with the utmost integrity.
Many people wonder how much coconut oil one should take each day. This varies, depending on your need. In general, however,  two tablespoons a day is a good place to start, one in the morning and one at night. Remember, some cultures, such as people who live in India or the Philippines, eat a lot more than that.
Some have asked whether taking coconut oil capsules is a good idea. Not really, simply because the amount contained in a capsule is so small you'd have to take so many each day it would not be cost-effective.
So once you buy your coconut oil, how do you take it? It's solid at room temperature. Some people simply eat it as is, just straight out of the jar. Others, such as myself, melt it in the microwave for about 25 seconds, just enough to drink it, but not too much that it's actually hot.
Although some oils are not as potent when they've been exposed to heat, this is not the case with coconut oil, according to Dr. Beverly Teter, a lipid biochemist at The University of Maryland.
In addition to eating the coconut "straight," whether in solid or liquid form, you could also add it to food. Many people reportedly put it in their morning oatmeal and evening meal.
The good news - no - the great news is that if any of the above mentioned means to take coconut oil seem a bit too cumbersome, there is a alternative. It's a fantastic product called "Fuel For Thought."
It comes in pre-measured, individual servings of one-ounce each. It's liquid, and tastes great! It tastes like a vanilla milkshake! Just one in the morning and one at night...no muss, no fuss.
Fuel For Thought is a God-send for people who live alone, are care-givers, or who simply don't want to bother with the inconvenience of taking coconut oil the traditional way. Fuel For Thought is of the absolute, highest quality. In fact, Fuel For Thought is what is being used to study the effects of coconut oil on humans with Alzheimer's at the prestigious Byrd Alzheimer Institute. The company who makes Fuel For Thought is also producing an identical-looking and identical-tasting placebo for the study.
So whatever your reason for taking coconut oil, from brain health to virus control, there are many choices about the type to purchase and the way to take it.
Remember, First of all, you must, must must NEVER EAT HYDROGENATED OILS OF ANY KIND, including coconut oil. Hydrogenated oils are the same thing as trans fats, which are some of the deadliest substances you can put in your body.
